Parking Lot Safety

Blaze Hill

Good morning, my name is Blaze Hill. These are my partners for our authentic task project, Lane Benton and Logan Ipock. We did our project on improving the parking lot and improving the safety of the parking lot. Here aren some issues we have in the parking lot We asked the students some questions about how they felt about the parking lot and Im going to talk about some of the survey data we had.
We asked students if they felt that the parking lot needed to be fixed. Here are the responses. As you can see 48 of the 58 responses were yes. We also asked students if they felt that the lines in the parking lot should be repainted. As you can see once again 48 of the 58 said yes. Then we asked students if the parking lot should be repaved. Forty out of 59 said yes. This data shows that shows that obviously the students feel the parking lot needs some work.
Now my partner, Lane Benton, is going to talk about some pictures and some problems that we have in the parking lot . He'll also be showing a interview we had with Mr. Todd McMillen.

Logan Ipock~
Thank you, Lane. Hey, I’m Logan Ipock, and I will be talking to you today about solutions and funding to fix our parking lot. We here at WCHS feel that our parking lot is unsafe because of all the pot holes and faded parking lines. This is a serious problem. As you saw earlier, we spoke with Mr. Mcmillen, and he suggested that we contact the maintenance department at Craven County to resurface the pot holes and to repaint the parking lines. To get the possible funding for this, we have to contact David Clifton, Chief Finance Officer at Craven County Schools. he could look and see how much money could be used by the maintenance department to fix our very unsafe parking lot. Another possible solution we have come up with is designing t-shirts and and making them in the Print Graphics room and having a t-shirt sale. Our parking lot really needs to be fixed. Someone is in danger of getting hurt, and someone’s vehicle is in danger of being damaged if we don’t address this problem quickly.
